Song for my friends

Painting ©reated by Humberto de Jesús Viñas García

Today I took my friends to
the airport. Coming back home,
a place to live in at least
with three or five of them,
alone and tired,
beaten by the sudden
emptiness, I start working
to fill the air with noises,
clean the table, take dishes
to the kitchen, crunches
fallen on the floor during
breakfast, crisp under my feet.
While I have the rest of some
cold coffee that´s left, I look
around and see flowers they
brought me one day, when the sun
was not shining as much
as I expected.
I empty the ashtray and
remember the words of our
late talk last night, then change the
order of chairs around the
table. And I know nothing
will be in order then, but
I'm ok, because today
I took my friends to the airport.

Potato woman

A fat potato woman
never saw the sun,
until one day they laid her
in a kitchen, just for fun.

There she started growing,
wondering what for,
getting old and ugly,
wrinkled to the core.

And her potato children
surely wont´t complain
about the sun mum knew
once, will they be the same?

The sound of poems

Poems drink and shrink and dine,
they wobble, pancake, weight and shame,
balance, shake and vouch and lunch,
fast and dip and zip and die,
heal, surprise and brew and stuff,
fiddle, prosper, yean and yawn,
bite and sting and rustle,
flatter, cake and sharpen, share,
foresee and take and drum,
drone and drop, reduce, enlarge,
demand, accuse, compost
and brighten, whisper, cry and yell
and shift and link and end.

To whom it may concern:

Provided, you are alive by then
and unfolding this paper,
raise your voice, and if you plead
ignorance, speak out, that it were us,
who betrayed and sold your planet.

Provided, you are wise by then
and unfolding this paper,
raise your voice, and if you plead for
the dead, speak out, that it were us,
who stuffed our souls with nuggets.

Provided, you are students by then
and unfolding this paper,
raise your voice, and if you plead for
knowledge, speak out, that it is you,
who have to be taught this lesson.

Provided, You are God by then
and unfolding this paper,
raise Your voice, and if You plead
guilty, speak out, that it is up to
You to live for the living.

Provided, you are praying by then
and unfolding this paper,
raise your voice, and if you plead for
freedom, speak up and pray:
Save our love and protect the artists.

Provided, you're an artist by then
and unfolding this paper,
raise your voice, and if you plead for
art, speak up and ...
... let me know, where to meet...
